Policies

10/10/07

It would be appreciated if we could keep our email invites confidential (use a blind cc .)

12/23/07

A resolution committee will be formed. The purpose of this is to draw up a new policy for dealing with a member who is not treating other members or their referrals in a professional manner. This is a first in our group where we have a member who has not been consistent with her charges for her services with more than one member. Members in the group have referred her to others outside the group. This could affect LRPWNG's reputation with our referrals. This member will be asked to resign, but for future situations, we need to know how best to proceed and have a policy set in place.

01/23/08

If you are unable to speak at your given date,it is your responsibility to find another member to take your place. The person that arranges the schedule is not responsible to find speaker's at the last minute. Please notify the person in charge of the speaker’s list of the change.

03/02/08 Late dues

The Treasurer will send each member an email notice if a member has not paid by the third meeting of the month. Then at the end of the month (business meeting), the Treasurer will have a list of members who have NOT paid and will pass it around to the group.

03/02/08 Leave of Absence

Members must submit a written request to the whole group to consider forgiven dues. The director or membership person will review the options for the member. The member with LOA will pay monthly dues while they are absent or their category will be relinquished. After LOA the member may come back as before, unless they have resigned.

4/30/08

We determined that only one person is to be considered a member and only the member can vote. If there are two women representing a business, only one can do the intro and voting.

5/14/08 A definition of Non-Compete Membership for the LRPWNG.

This form was voted on at the business meeting. Non-Compete means one member per professional specialty (hereinafter called "Business") is accepted into the group at one time. We allow only one business, per business category as described by LRPWNG on their website, to be a member. See member application for details.

6/26/08

Problems with Non-compete of members within our group. Whenever there is a conflict, it is best to let the persons in conflict try to work it out. If they cannot, then ask for help from the membership or standards committee.

7/30/08

LRPWNG does have bylaws regarding absences. The Standards Committee should be notified if frequent absences are needed We had discussion at this meeting to encourage more one on one meetings with each other to learn more about each other's businesses and develop relationships for extended referrals and networking. If you do meet on one on one please include in your thank you's at the end of the meeting and it will be reported in the minutes.

8/27/08 Group discussion issue

It was suggested that when a topic is introduced to the members for discussion, the timekeeper will set the timer for 5 minutes. When the 5 minutes has expired, the members will do one of two things:

  1. Bring the discussion topic to a vote.
  2. Vote to continue discussion for another 5 minutes. If the members choose this option, and the majority votes in favor of continuing the discussion, the timekeeper will reset the timer for another 5 minutes. At the end of that time, either the membership votes on the topic o the discussion will end for that meeting.
